Despite lacking the necessary documentation to be in South Africa, Armindo Pacula, the 25-year-old Mozambican national accused of murdering Warrick Stock, also known as DJ Warras, intends to apply for bail.

Pacula appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with the murder of Stock. Police allege he is the gunman captured on CCTV footage shooting Stock five times in Joburg's CBD on December 16, 2025. Sources indicate Pacula was allegedly paid only R700 to carry out the murder.

Heavily armed members of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) were present in court during Pacula's appearance. He was arrested on Friday evening in Primrose, on the East Rand, after a tip-off led police to a shack in the Marathon informal settlement where he was hiding.

Pacula, who faces charges of premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and being in the country illegally, has opted for Legal Aid representation.

A Legal Aid representative informed the State that Pacula insists on applying for bail, despite his undocumented status. "The address that he has given, he is not clear and there is no indication that he has lawful documents to be in SA. But he still insists that he wants to apply for a formal bail application," the representative stated.

Pacula will remain in custody until next week while police attempt to verify his address.
