The Durban restaurant where rapper AKA and his friend Tibz were shot dead will be closing for good after the incident.
The Wish On Florida bosses have announced that the popular restaurant will have its last supper on Monday, 10 April.
The restaurant came to the spotlight on 1o February when the two stars were shot dead outside the establishment after having their last supper there.
The director Philani Kweyama said in the light of the recent tragic event on their doorstep, they have experienced a severe downturn in business which left the directors with no choice but to close the business as the brand equity of Wish o Florida has been deeply hindered.
"Wish on Florida was certainly a wish come true for a black entrepreneur who dedicated the last three years to building a successful black-owned restaurant in the heart of Durban-winning the Emerging Tourism Entrepreneur Award at the Durban Tourism in 2022", he said.
Kweyama said they would like to thank the city of Durban for their support in the last three years. He said catering to them and the rest of the country has been an absolute joy and their tremendous support will forever be engraved on the venue's legacy.
He also thanked their staff members and said they are the fabric that held the business together, this was not an easy decision.
"Our efforts to keep our doors open to ensure the security of your employment have been difficult and unfortunate.
"We invite the public to join us on our last trading week as we have an exciting line-up of activities from the 7th April leading to the last supper o the 10th April",he said.
