Rough sex involves choking one during the deed, and it can sometimes end in tears.
A man from Darlington in England learnt the hard way after he was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison for killing a woman during sex.
According to The Guardian, the 32-year-old man pleaded guilty to manslaughter after admitting he had killed the woman by mistakenly choking her during rough sex.
The unfortunate incident happened earlier this year.
It is reported the man handed himself over to the police in the early hours of 7 February, where he told the cops he woke up to find the woman naked and unresponsive.
A postmortem report found she had died from strangulation.
An NGO called We Can’t Consent To This said it was disappointed about the lenient sentence given to the man.
The organisation also said it was against the use of rough sex defences in cases involving violence against women.
“It seems that strangling a woman to death is still viewed in law as an unfortunate accident, rather than a terrible and serious violence,” said the NGO’s spokeswoman Fiona McKenzie.
