Two Charged with Murder of DJ Warras to Appear in Court

Johannesburg – Two men arrested in connection with the murder of media personality Warrick Stock, known to many as DJ Warras, are scheduled to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

Stock, aged 40, was fatally shot on December 16 outside Zambesi House in Johannesburg’s central business district. At the time of the incident, Stock’s private security company, Imperium Ops International, was contracted to provide security services at the location.

The arrests were made following a pre-dawn police operation at the Morafe Hostel in Soweto on Monday, December 22. During the operation, the two suspects were taken into custody for questioning. SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili has since confirmed that both men have been formally charged with Stock's murder.

The police investigation is ongoing, with authorities actively searching for at least one additional suspect. CCTV footage obtained from the scene is believed to show three individuals approaching Stock shortly before the shooting occurred.

Investigators are currently exploring the possibility that Stock’s murder is linked to his work in the private security industry, particularly his involvement in operations at inner-city buildings. It has been reported that in the weeks leading up to his death, Stock had obtained several protection orders after receiving threats related to his professional activities.

The court appearance comes just a day after Stock was laid to rest. His funeral was attended by family, friends, and colleagues. The State is expected to oppose bail for the accused, citing the seriousness of the charge and concerns about potential interference with witnesses.
