Police have confirmed that the body of a half-naked woman has been found inside Mooifontein Cemetery in Tembisa, near an informal settlement.
SAPS Gauteng spokesperson Brenda Muridili told IOL that a woman’s body was discovered in Tembisa South, in the Vusimusi section, on Thursday, 26 September 2026.
“At this stage, we can only confirm the discovery of the body. Crime scene management and all the necessary role players are currently on the scene. Further information will be provided as soon as preliminary investigations have been conducted,” Muridili said.
Part of a Pattern: 10th Woman Found in the Area
The death is reported to be the 10th woman found in the area. In total, 11 bodies have been found in recent weeks in Gauteng.
