An 18-year-old suspect has been arrested after a shootout involving police in Khayelitsha, where officers recovered a shotgun and a 9mm pistol.

“The vehicle was spotted in Injongo Street, Site C, Khayelitsha, where the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot, with the police in pursuit. A shootout between police and the suspects ensued and one male was wounded and apprehended.
“Police recovered a 9mm pistol and a shotgun on the scene. The 18-year-old suspect is in hospital under police guard.”
