Gagasi FM's Felix Hlophe Addresses Viral Video Allegations, Denies Physical Violence

Durban – Popular Gagasi FM breakfast show host Felix Hlophe has spoken out following the widespread circulation of a video allegedly depicting a domestic dispute involving him and his wife, Tracy Hlophe. The comedian and radio personality has vehemently denied allegations of physical violence, addressing claims that surfaced on social media in the wake of the incident.

The allegations, which rapidly gained traction online, suggested that Hlophe was involved in a physical altercation with his wife on December 24th, 2025. It was claimed that Tracy Hlophe subsequently fled with their children to a neighbour’s residence seeking refuge. Further claims alleged that Hlophe followed them to the property and aggressively hooted outside the gate, demanding the return of his children. This incident was reportedly captured in a video that has since been widely shared across various social media platforms.

Hlophe, who presents the station's morning drive show "The Uprising" from 6 am to 9 am, Monday to Friday, released a statement addressing the situation. He confirmed that the events in question did indeed occur on Christmas Eve.

In his statement, Hlophe said he "formally acknowledges the statements that have been made about me on social media by an associate of my wife".

He added, “I am aware of these statements and have referred the matter to my legal representatives for advice.”

Hlophe explained that the events unfolded after his wife accepted an invitation from a friend to spend some time away with their children. "Following the public circulation of news relating to my personal life, my wife accepted an invitation from a friend to take some time away with our children," he stated.

Hlophe confirmed that he, accompanied by his mother-in-law, went to the friend's residence to collect his wife and children. "Accompanied by my mother-in-law, I went to fetch my wife and children," he said.

While acknowledging that emotions escalated during the encounter, Hlophe firmly denied any physical assault took place. "During this interaction, emotions ran high on all sides and an unfortunate confrontation took place, but there was no physical violence," he asserted.

He further contended that the video clips circulating online do not provide a complete or accurate representation of the events. "The video clips circulating online do not show the full context of the incident and present only a partial account of what occurred," Hlophe stated.

The radio host also noted the presence of security personnel and the South African Police Service (SAPS) at the scene. "Security and the South African Police Service were called as a precaution. Both the private security personnel and SAPS officers present expressed concern about the nature of the insults directed at my mother-in-law during the exchange," he explained.

The situation remains a sensitive one, and further developments are expected as Hlophe's legal representatives address the matter. The public will undoubtedly be watching closely as more information comes to light.
