Award-winning actress and fashion designer Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa has officially closed the chapter on her marriage to music producer Black Coffee, confirming her divorce after years of public disputes.
The couple, who separated in 2019, endured a protracted and often turbulent legal battle over the past six years. On Friday, Mlotshwa took to Instagram to announce that she is now officially “Miss Mlotshwa,” expressing a mix of relief and gratitude for the lessons the challenging journey imparted.
“Today with great emotion I write this. I am officially Miss Mlotshwa. I’m so grateful for this ugly journey that gave me so many lessons,” she shared in her heartfelt post.

Mlotshwa acknowledged the unwavering support of her legal team and loved ones throughout the ordeal, with special mention of her mother, Sibongile Mlotshwa. “These lawyers, advocates, and senior attorneys have pushed me and reminded me of the greatness I had in me, reminded me how important it was to fight, most importantly for my children and more so for the rights of women in South Africa,” she wrote.
She added a personal tribute to her mother: “I would like to thank my mother, who took on this journey on her shoulders as if it were her own. She felt every emotion I felt more intensely as I refused to sink myself back into depression. She held space. Thank you, mom.”
Sibongile Mlotshwa, who has been by her daughter’s side through the difficult period, previously spoke to News24 in September during Enhle’s Carlton Hair ambassadorship announcement. She shared her pride in her daughter’s resilience and strength as a single mother.
“I never thought that she would be a single mom because it’s a tough journey. But watching her hold it down, I’m actually excited, and those boys are amazing boys. Very humble, and she’s doing a good job,” Sibongile said at the Hyde Park Corner event.
Sibongile also highlighted the challenges of single parenthood, especially given the unexpected end of the couple’s marriage. “It’s tough. We all know that being a single mom is daunting, especially what she went through with everything that was happening. She’s still holding it down, she’s still able to stand strong, and be a good mom,” she added.
The actress’s Instagram announcement has since been met with an outpouring of support from fans, colleagues, and fellow entertainment industry figures, many of whom celebrated her courage, resilience, and dedication to her children.
Mlotshwa’s message also reflected on the broader significance of her journey. By openly sharing her struggles and triumphs, she positioned herself not only as a devoted mother but also as an advocate for women navigating similar challenges in South Africa.
“Today God has laid a table for me… I am so thankful to the people you see in this image,” she wrote, referencing the legal team and family who supported her through the lengthy divorce proceedings.
Her public acknowledgement of the journey underscores the emotional toll of high-profile separations, particularly when they unfold under the scrutiny of the public eye. For Mlotshwa, the end of her marriage marks both closure and a new beginning as she embraces her identity as a single mother and continues to pursue her career in acting and fashion.
As Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa steps into this next chapter of her life, her story resonates with many for its honesty, strength, and unwavering focus on family. Amid the challenges of divorce and public scrutiny, she continues to inspire as a figure of resilience and determination in the South African entertainment industry.
