Actress and TV personality Palesa Madisakwane is grateful that she and her nine-year-old daughter escaped with their lives after being involved in a head-on collision with an alleged drunk driver.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, Palesa released a series of emotional videos urging drivers not to get behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol.
“I’m standing here not as a celebrity as some people will call me and not as a public figure or TV personality but as a South African citizen, I’m standing here as a mother, a sister and a black woman who is a voice to the voiceless of all those who suffered against the inhumane irresponsible drunken drivers that got away with murder! Let’s stand together South Africa against drunk drivers who are putting out lives in danger!”
In one of the video clips, Palesa struggled to fight back tears as she said that she wanted her scars to be a reminder to drunk drivers.
“I’m not afraid to show these scars, I really want them to go out there because especially the drivers who get onto the road drunk they need to be aware of what they putting us through. Innocent people, innocent children.”
Palesa recounted how her daughter, who was trapped at the back of the car cried out to her before good Samaritans stopped to help them.
