TV personality Somizi Mhlongo’s relationship with partner Mohale Motaung has been one that has got everyone talking and celebrating.
Unfortunately for the couple, Mohale’s family apparently did not approve of the relationship and distanced themselves from the couple initially. This was mainly because Mohale is 20 years younger than Somizi (45), and he is the same age as Somizi’s daughter, Bahumi. Things seem to have changed. Somizi recently posted pictures of both families dressed in black celebrating the couple’s engagement.
Somizi and Mohale have been engaged since last year, and from the get-go Somizi was almost certain that the relationship would end up in marriage and this he declared during an interview on SABC3’s Real Talk with then host Anele Mdoda.
To his disappointment, Mohale’s family was not as excited as he was about the engagement. It seems time has made all the difference because the Motaungs are now singing a different tune. The two families came together to celebrate Somizi and Mohale’s engagement. The ceremony was intimate and guests were dressed in black.
NOT SO ROSY
It was made clear that Mohale’s sister was not a fan of the relationship when she earlier commented on one of the couple’s pictures and said, “I don’t care, you guys don’t understand how this relationship has messed up my family. Somizi was going ka his kid is dating, she is young blah blah blah. The next thing he is busy with my brother, who is his daughter’s age. So it’s ok to destroy other kids but his must live in a perfect world.”
A FANCY WEDDING
Madly in love Somizi spoke to Anele about his new boyfriend and the dream wedding he plans to have. “It is going to be a destination wedding. It is going to be very far like your Bora Bora (which is) a 26hour flight and I’m going to invite everyone I know. But I know, not everyone is going to make it,” he boasted.
The choreographer also added that no film makers will be joining him, neither can they afford to. He also added that there will be ballerinas hanging, then he quickly changed his mind and said, “Actually I’m going to have all the celebrities I don’t like and pay them to hang like angels and torture them.”
Even though the Metro FM radio personality is in a same sex relationship, he plans on having more children because of Mohale. This, he said during one of his shows, which he co-hosts with Dj Fresh, Angie Khumalo and Mpho Letsholonyane.
“I would want to have another child out of me being selfless because my partner doesn’t have a child and he wants a child,” he said.
When contacted for comment, Somizi did not take any of our calls.
