#IdolsSA Judge Unathi speaks on being single, sources reveal why she was dumped by hubby

Unathi is looking better than ever these days but she is in no hurry to find ‘Mr Right’.

The singer announced in October last year that she was calling time on her relationship with Thomas Msengana. While she was adamant that they were separating and not divorcing, their marriage appears to be over for good.

Speaking to SowetanLIVE, Unathi says she is enjoying the single life.

“I feel like that 22-year-old who first moved to Johannesburg in 2001. Being single is fantastic because I am getting to know myself and what I genuinely like and it’s a wonderful place to be. I’m going to stay single for a very long time.”

The Idols SA judge is focusing on her career and taking care of her family.

She is embarking on her first music tour, ‘Brave, True and Strong’, which celebrates “women, perseverance and the beauty of life”.

Her five-city tour kicked off in August and will be heading to Port Elizabeth this week.

She performed to a sold-out crowd in Polokwane last month, which might not have been possible a few years ago.

Unathi, who has lost over 28 kilograms, says she struggled to book gigs when she was at her heaviest.

“When I weighed 98kg I wasn’t getting any gigs to MC, perform or do public speaking but as soon as I started losing the weight and started on my transformation, things changed,” she told the publication.

2017 was a tough year for the star, but things are looking up for Unathi. She looks better than ever, her career is flourishing and she is enjoying life to the fullest.

Unathi is also using her star power to give back, being part of the line-up for this week’s Rhodes University Benefit Show.

“I am giving EVERY SINGLE Rand made through ticket sales back to Rhodes University for Bursaries/Scholarships. Hope to see you there (sic),” she wrote on Instagram.

The former Metro FM DJ and Idols judge Unathi Msengana confirmed in October 2017 for the first time that she is separated from her long-term husband, Thomas ‘Bad Boy T’ Msengana.

Rumours had been doing the rounds for several months that the couple’s marriage is on the rocks. The pair had been married since 2009 and have two children together.

Several people have blasted Unathi for not caring about her marriage, because she is now so rich. Others are of the opinion that her husband didn't deserve all this as he has been with Unathi through thick and thin.

"He was there before Unathi started rolling in the money. And you know how Madi knows that? Judging by Unathi’s charcoal armpits on Idols, she must have been using that LSM 4 roll-on with the dancing figurines way back in the day before she could afford better brands. And guess what: he was there for her.," said one fan.

According to our research, one of the reasons for the alleged trouble in paradise is Unathi allegedly cheating on her husband and having s3x with another man, his personal trainer whom she is always with whenever she is not doing the Idols work, sources claim.

Unathi is a compassionate judge on Idols SA. But in her marriage, she was the one under the spotlight . . .And her hubby was unhappy with her performance!

According to the first mole, Bad Boy T was having sleepless nights at the thought of his wife having s2x with her personal trainer.

Said the mole: "Things are bad. He smells a rat. In fact, he suspects there’s something between them and he doesn’t like it one bit."

A second source said Bad Boy T was turned off by the idea of Unathi cheating on him.

"He’s been upset. No married man wants his woman spending too much time with another man. Family has been roped in to try and save their marriage, and they’re trying hard to fix it. They lead separate lives," said the source.

But a third friend said: "Unathi is gatvol with Thomas. She discovered disturbing things in his life. Yes, it involves a third party. She confronted him many times before about this issue."
