Mihlali Ndamase, the popular social media personality and award-winning content creator, recently announced on Instagram that she plans to sell some of her clothes. Despite being far from trash, the extensive collection has resulted in limited space in her home.
In her Instagram Stories, Mihlali confessed, "I have so much decluttering to do. Three of the bedrooms in my house are full of my clothes. I had to put an extra clothing rail in my office, and that is filled too." She went on to explain the nature of her work as a content creator, stating that she often wears clothes solely for advertising and photoshoots, rarely getting the opportunity to wear them beyond those occasions.
“Let me tell you the life of a content creator: We literally wear clothes to advertise them and shoot. It rarely happens when I actually wear something and go somewhere on a shoot day. So, a lot of my clothing items are put on for that hour or two that I’m shooting, then I take it off immediately.”
To address the lack of closet space caused by her frequent collaborations with clothing boutiques and her love for fashion, Mihlali created a new Instagram account called Mihlali's Kloset. This dedicated account is aimed at selling her gently-used clothes, as well as some brand new items. In the caption of her post, she encouraged interested buyers to visit @mihlaliskloset and send a direct message indicating their interest in specific clothes.
“If you’re interested in purchasing something from @mihlaliskloset please head over to my page and pop us a DM with the garment you’re interested in.”
By creating Mihlali's Kloset, Mihlali Ndamase offers her followers and fashion enthusiasts the chance to own pieces from her wardrobe, providing a solution to her space-related predicament while allowing others to enjoy her stylish clothing collection.
