Nkateko “Takkies” Maswanganyi Confirms Separation from Husband Chris Dinwiddy — Both Move On with New Partners
Choreographer, mother of two and former Fly Chix member Nkateko “Takkies” Maswanganyi has confirmed that her marriage to British businessman Chris Dinwiddy has come to an end after nearly eight years.
The pair, once celebrated as one of social media’s most adored couples, is now living separate lives. Both have moved on romantically, with Takkies starting to date again, while Dinwiddy has publicly introduced a new partner in the United Kingdom.
“During life’s winding journey, I met an unexpected person in an unexpected place. And so started a new life chapter with a supportive, caring, and beautiful partner at my side,” Dinwiddy shared on his social media platforms, confirming that he had found love again with what he described as “another brown skin black woman.”
Life in London and the split
The couple relocated to London some years ago, but according to friends close to the family, their marriage unravelled during that time. “He strayed. He connected with someone else when they arrived in Europe,” one source told Sunday World.
The cracks reportedly deepened until the two eventually decided to part ways. A friend revealed that while the split was painful, Takkies has started rebuilding her life. “Takkies has moved on and is trying to adjust to new life. She is also dating again. She will be okay.”

Their relationship had once been held up as an example of true love. In 2017, their lavish wedding at the Steynshoop Wedding Venue in Magaliesburg was featured on SABC3’s lifestyle show Top Billing, which has since been cancelled. At the time, Takkies beamed with joy, declaring: “This is for a lifetime.”
The two went on to build a strong social media presence as a family unit, often sharing dance videos with their daughters that quickly became fan favourites. Their fun and light-hearted content gained them a loyal following, cementing their reputation as one of South Africa’s beloved celebrity couples.

Speaking about her healing journey, she said: “I’m grateful to God for giving me strength, opening my eyes, and saving me. Healing is not straight forward but so vital. I’m back and better.”
She added that the experience has taught her to protect her peace in her new chapter. “I’m approaching love by protecting my peace. My boundaries are stronger. I don’t overlook red flags, and as sweet as I am, I’m not accepting any nonsense.”
While she has not officially introduced her new partner, sources have indicated that she is in a relationship with a white man, though she has chosen not to reveal his identity publicly.
