Orlando Pirates star Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo has sent a special message to the Khoza family.
The diminutive midfielder joined the Buccaneers in a blockbuster deadline day move from Marumo Gallants.
Ndlondlo put in a man-of-the-Match performance on debut against Mamelodi Sundowns.
The midfielder has since sent a message to the club’s hierarchy for showing faith in him.
“I would like to thank the almighty for the talent and the opportunity.” the midfielder said following the match as quoted by Citizen.
“And secondly I would like to thank the Orlando Pirates family for believing in me and bringing me into the team. What a way to welcome myself in the team, getting a debut, being named man-of-the-match, putting in a great performance. I think it was a way for me to say thank you to the Orlando Pirates family.
“Coming back to the game, I think it was a great game. We really fought as a team and we deserved to win because we created chances. But it was unfortunate that we could not score. We will take it and plan for the next one.”
The Buccaneers welcomed arch-rivals Mamelodi Sundowns to the Orlando Stadium for the first leg of their MTN8 semi-final clash!
The match ended in a goalless draw while the second leg takes place on 22 October at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
IT’S A SPECIAL GAME – JOSE
“Obviously it’s a special game in a way for all of us, players and the fans.” Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro told Citizen before the match.
“Also for the media. We will approach the game as we usually do and we are going to try to have a good day on Saturday. We know that nothing will be decided on Saturday, I don’t think so. But hopefully it is in our favour because we have to play two games.
“We are happy with the new recruitment. We already have a group of players that have been doing very well. Now there are three more Orlando Pirates players that are coming with the intention to help us and do things better. They’re coming to be part of a good collective and they will give us some new tune to try to continue winning games.”
