Three Arrested After Comedian Skeem Mafenya Is Found Fatally Stabbed

Three people have been arrested in connection with the murder of comedian and content creator Khadziyane Ndivhuwo, who was fatally stabbed in the early hours of Saturday morning in Limpopo.

Ndivhuwo, 20, was known to fans by his entertainment name, Skeem Mafenya. He was discovered with multiple stab wounds to his upper body in a yard at Madonsi Boltman B, within the Malamulele policing area.

Police launched an intelligence-driven operation in the district shortly after the killing, leading to the swift arrest of three suspects aged between 17 and 23. They are expected to appear in the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of murder.

The motive for the attack remains unknown. Authorities have not disclosed whether Ndivhuwo knew the suspects or what led to the stabbing. Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba confirmed that officers received a report at approximately 03:35 about a person lying motionless inside a residential yard.

It is alleged that a community member heard a knock at the door and, upon looking through a window, saw a man bleeding heavily outside. Emergency Medical Services were called, but Ndivhuwo could not be saved and was certified dead at the scene. “The victim was lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds to his upper body,” Mashaba said.

Investigators are now working to establish where the stabbing occurred, how Ndivhuwo ended up in the yard, and whether anyone witnessed the suspects before or after the incident. The resident who saw the wounded man may become a key witness, particularly if they heard voices, a vehicle, or a struggle before looking outside.

Police are expected to gather statements from locals, examine the scene for physical evidence, and reconstruct a timeline of Ndivhuwo’s final movements. The identities and ages of the suspects have not yet been released, nor have the specific roles each allegedly played.

Provincial police leadership welcomed the arrests but emphasised that the suspects must still face due process. Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Jan Petrus Scheepers condemned the killing and said the investigation would be closely monitored. “We commend the swift response by the police that led to the arrest of the three suspects. We will monitor this case closely to ensure that the suspects are held accountable for the senseless killing through the criminal justice system,” Scheepers stated.

The suspects remain innocent until proven guilty. Their first court appearance is expected to formally set out the charges and may reveal more about the State’s case.

Meanwhile, fans and fellow entertainers are mourning the loss of a young performer whose online comedy had begun attracting attention. Under the name Skeem Mafenya, Ndivhuwo used humour and short-form content to build a growing audience. His death has now turned a rising entertainment figure into the centre of a murder investigation.

Police have not confirmed whether the killing was linked to a robbery, an argument, or another confrontation. No property theft has been reported, and investigators have not disclosed whether the stabbing was connected to an earlier dispute. Until those questions are answered, speculation about motive remains premature.

The case highlights how quickly a violent incident can escalate from a private residential yard into a matter of public concern. Within hours of the discovery, police had launched a full investigation and made arrests across the Malamulele district.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court once formally charged. The State may request a postponement to complete investigations, obtain forensic results, and consult witnesses. The court process will determine whether the case proceeds against all three accused and whether additional charges are added.

For Ndivhuwo’s family, the arrests may provide some reassurance that the investigation is progressing, but they cannot undo the loss of a 20-year-old whose life and career were cut short. The wider creative community is also grieving the death of a young entertainer who was still building his future.

Police will continue examining the scene, tracing the suspects’ movements, and determining whether other witnesses can shed light on the attack. The recovery of the weapon used remains a priority.

At this stage, the only confirmed facts are that Ndivhuwo was found with multiple stab wounds, died at the scene, and three suspects were arrested within hours. The case now moves to the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court, where the allegations will be formally presented. Family, fans, and the broader community will be watching closely for answers about the killing of Skeem Mafenya.
