Durban Family Desperate To Find Safety Officer Torell Abrahams After E-Hailing Journey

0

A Durban family is desperately searching for Torell Abrahams, a 30-year-old safety officer who was last seen in Umbilo on Thursday, October 8.

Abrahams, who is from Wentworth, was reportedly seen leaving a construction site on Oliver Lea Road at about 6pm. Her family has heard from her since, according to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), which has appealed to the public for information that could help locate her.

The last known contact came later that evening, when Abrahams spoke to her father by phone. RUSA boss Prem Balram said she told him she was travelling home in an e-hailing vehicle.

“At approximately 20:00 that evening, she spoke to her father telephonically and informed him that she was travelling home in an e-hailing. She has not made contact since.”

The family is now trying to establish what happened after that conversation and where Abrahams may have gone. No further details about her movements have been provided.

RUSA said Abrahams was last seen leaving the construction site on Oliver Lea Road in Umbilo at around 6pm. She was wearing a navy Redbat T-shirt, dark blue jeans, a black scarf and safety boots.

Balram also provided a description that may help people recognise her. “She has a fair complexion, a medium build, and black hair.”

The appeal comes as her relatives try to find her and ask anyone who may have seen her—or who has information about her whereabouts—to contact RUSA. Even a detail that may seem small could help the search, the unit said.

Last known journey home

The information released so far places Abrahams in Umbilo on the evening she went missing. She was last seen at the construction site on Oliver Lea Road, and later told her father by telephone that she was making her way home in an e-hailing.

The call is the last contact described by RUSA. Abrahams has not been in touch with her family since, and her whereabouts remain unknown.

The available information does not identify the e-hailing vehicle, its driver or the route Abrahams may have taken. RUSA has not provided further details about the circumstances of her disappearance. The organisation is asking the public to come forward with information that could help establish where she is.

What she was wearing

When she was last seen, Abrahams was wearing a navy Redbat T-shirt, dark blue jeans, a black scarf and safety boots. She is described as having a fair complexion, a medium build and black hair.

RUSA has shared these details to help members of the public identify her. Anyone who believes they may have seen a woman matching this description is being asked to contact the organisation directly.

How to share information

Anyone with information about Abrahams’ whereabouts is requested to contact Reaction Unit South Africa on 086 123 4333.
