Eastern Cape police are on the hunt for a man who opened fire on an e-hailing vehicle in East London on Wednesday night, killing a 44-year-old woman and wounding a 31-year-old woman.
The shooting took place in Amalinda around 18:40. According to police spokesperson Captain Mluleki Mbi, the women were passengers in the e-hailing vehicle and were seated in the back when the gunman approached the vehicle and opened fire.
The injured woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. The e-hailing driver was not harmed.
Police have opened a murder and attempted murder docket, and the motive for the shooting is under investigation.
