Ten Dead, Eight Critically Injured in Gruesome Taxi-Truck Crash South of Durban

A horrific collision between a taxi and a truck south of Durban has claimed the lives of at least ten people, with eight others critically injured. Emergency services are currently on scene, working to free passengers trapped within the wreckage.

The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 am on the R102 near Lotus Park. Garrith Jamieson of ALS Paramedics described the scene as "quite a gruesome scene with multiple fatalities," adding that the recovery operation is expected to take a considerable amount of time.

Eight critically injured patients have been transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical care. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

The cause of the collision is currently under investigation. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
