Sindi Dlathu, playing the popular Thandaza on Muvhango, could be returning to our TV screens.
The actress bid farewell to the SABC 2 soapie in 2017, after twenty years on the show.
“…I’ve decided to give the Thandaza character a break in order for me to grow as an artist, venture out to explore new opportunities and discover what I can do as an actress and as a human being,” Sindi said in a statement announcing her decision to leave the drama series.
The last time Muvhango viewers saw Thandaza on their screens was in March this year.
The show’s producers did not kill off the character, but left the door wide open for a return.
And that comeback could be happening, according to Move! magazine.
“There is hope that she might make a comeback. Muvhango associate producer, Morishe Matlejoane, says that Sindi’s exit isn’t necessarily permanent, as they have just frozen her character,” the publication reported.
Since leaving the show, Sindi has made an appearance on The River.
There’s no official word on whether she will in fact return to Muvhango. Watch this space!
