A picturesque day in Krugersdorp turned chaotic as the wedding of TV and radio personality Masechaba Ndlovu and music producer Ntethelelo Faku Mposwa faced unexpected hurdles.
Guests adorned in vibrant traditional attire gathered to celebrate the couple's union, but power outages and an unruly guest threatened to overshadow the joyous occasion.
According to a guest at the wedding, the atmosphere shifted dramatically when the power went out.
“Things just started going wrong from there. Things just took a turn when a drunk man objected to the couple getting married,” the guest recounted.
The unknown man took the phrase “speak now or forever hold your peace” far too literally, staggering into the ceremony and demanding that Masechaba and Faku halt their proceedings.
“He staggered into the wedding, drunk as hell; nobody knew who he was and asked that Masechaba and Faku stop the wedding,” the guest added, noting that the man even knew the couple by name, indicating he was indeed a guest.
A close friend of the couple later revealed that the disruptive figure was related to the groom. “He is a drunk uncle who had too much to drink. People thought it was an ex-lover or ex-husband. We can laugh about it now because it has passed, but it was so messy,” the friend shared.
“When we met in 2022, we invited God into our relationship and He's been our rock ever since. There have been challenges along the way, but through prayer and loving each other more, we've managed to go to war and drag each other out alive,” she stated.
As the couple celebrated their love, Masechaba took to social media to share her excitement. “My chief strategist, my lover, my life. Baba ka @lukhanyo_lwezizwe, ndiyakuthanda. Ndiyabulela Faku, Nyawuza, Mpondo,” she wrote while conveying her happiness to her followers.
The couple's bond has strengthened over time, with Masechaba expressing confidence in their future together.
“As we embark on this journey together, may no weapon formed against us prosper. This was the happiest day of my life. I love you, @official_ntethe, and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you,” she declared.
The wedding showcased the rich cultural heritage of South Africa, with traditional attire being a highlight of the celebration. Fans and fellow celebrities quickly took to social media to congratulate the newlyweds.
One user, @Vuyelwa_tshona, wrote, “Congratulations Mkhaya! @official_ntethe 🙌🏾 Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness. May God bless your union abundantly.”
Masechaba's relationship with Ntethe extends beyond love; it also encompasses their shared joy in parenthood. In 2023, she announced the arrival of their son, Lukhanyo Lesizwe, and took the opportunity to pen a heartfelt open letter to him. In this touching message, she praised Ntethe for being an exceptional father.
“I honestly don’t know how I would have coped if it weren’t for your dad. Steve Harvey says, 'there are fathers and there are daddys.' Anyone can be a father, but you have a daddy,” she wrote.
Masechaba described how Ntethe has taken on the role of caregiver, particularly during their son's bath times, creating a special bond between father and son. “It gives me so much joy to just relax and watch him render such a powerful act of service to you. I’m in awe every single day,” she said.
Despite the earlier chaos at the wedding, the couple's love story continues to resonate with many. Masechaba's journey through love and marriage has faced its fair share of challenges, yet she remains optimistic and grateful for the path she has chosen. As the day unfolded, it became clear that, despite the interruptions, the love between Masechaba and Ntethe stood strong, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
