Producer and actress, Sonia Mbele, finds herself facing a string of difficulties as unfortunate events continue to unfold in her life. Most recently, she fell at home, injuring her toe and breaking her leg.
Mbele said the broken leg has forced her to close her office temporarily as she cannot walk. "I will be recuperating at home for the rest of the year," she noted. According to Mbele, she slipped on the stairs, which resulted in the broken leg. Though still in pain, she said she expects to make a full recovery.
This came after Mbele was assaulted while dining at a restaurant in Sandton, Johannesburg. A source said a man snatched her wig and hit her with it. Understandably, the repeated difficulties have taken a toll on Mbele. "She has faced a challenging year filled with stressors," the insider commented.
Among other issues, Mbele reportedly had tax problems with SARS and was hospitalized for two weeks due to an autoimmune disease diagnosis a few months ago.
"I had to quit alcohol and I now have to go for drips to make sure I have enough iron," she added.
She is now undergoing treatment, which has brought physical and emotional adjustments, like quitting alcohol and receiving IV drips to manage iron levels.
While the talented producer deals with ongoing health concerns, friends hope she is able to rest and heal and look forward to better times ahead after a difficult period.
