Actor Nyaniso Dzedze and his wife Yaya Fay Dzedze are reunited after she was detained at OR Tambo International Airport
Actor Nyaniso Dzedze and his wife Yana Fay Dzedze are reunited after one week of detention at OR Tambo International Airport because she possesses a German passport.
After spending almost a week in detention, Nyaniso’s wife has finally been released and the excited actor took to Instagram to share the news.
"My gratitude precedes everything. To all who supported, prayed, sent love, and sent energetic fields of light…Thank you. Yana is home. My love is home. My wife is here", he wrote.
Proceeding with his long letter of gratitude, the star also thanked the influential figures who helped him.
"We thank everyone of the figures of influence who opened up their hearts to the situation and heard our pleas. Thank you," he wrote.
The actor also thanked his lawyer, Mokgatle Mokgatle, who helped him to get his wife released from detention.
Last week Nyaniso took to social media to plead with law enforcement to release his wife.
"She hasn't been to Germany since she was 16. She hasn't been to Europe or England since last August. We've been in South Africa, Zanzibar and Rwanda. All these places are not high risk but we're in the airport and we're not allowed into South Africa because of the corona pandemonium," he said.
In the video, Nyaniso said they were returning from Rwanda due to the travel bans that were announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa in attempt to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
