THEY made their names playing for the Ghosts, popularly known as Orlando Pirates. But now, ghosts in the form of levies haunt the ex-Buccaneers duo of Tlou Segolela and Thandani “Bibo” Ntshumayelo.
The former Bafana Bafana players have been stalked and haunted by the levy spirits of their respective complexes. The two footies have even allegedly lost their belongings following failure to pay their levies in the complexes.
This comes after their movable assets were allegedly repossessed and put up for auction. Tomorrow, Tlou’s goods will be sold in a public auction at Halfway House in Midrand, Jozi. The Waterfall View Homeowners’ Associations obtained a writ of execution after Tlou failed to settle a R50 107,49 bill.
Following several unsuccessful demands for him to pay up, the association was granted an order by the Randburg Magistrate’s Court to repossess and sell his valuables in an auction. Some of the items include a plasma TV, dining-room suite and a TV stand, among other items.
Read the papers: “The defendant (Segolela) is indebted to the plaintiff in the sum of R50 107,49 in respect of arrear levy and other lawful charges for the period up to May 2018. Despite demands, the defendant has failed, refused and/or neglected to pay to the plaintiff the sum or any part thereof.”
This comes on the heels of the same court granting a default judgment against Tlou’s former teammate, Thandani, a fortnight ago. The Broadacres Extension 22 Homeowners’ Association obtained an order to strip Thandani off his assets worth R9 472,47 to defer costs.
Some of the items allegedly put on auction include a washing machine, TV and lounge suite.
Read the papers: “The defendant (Ntshumayelo) is liable to pay costs of this action on a scale as between attorney and client.”
Bibo confirmed he was behind with levy payment, but says he has settled the bill. He denied that his assets were auctioned, saying: “My stuff is still in my house, nothing was auctioned.”
Tlou could not be reached for comment. He failed to respond to our SMSes and WhatsApp messages.
