Kaizer Chiefs’ injury woes continue as they go into the final five games of the 2018/19 Absa Premiership season, with the club confirming that another player has been ruled out for the season.
Happy Mashiane was dealt a sad blow early into his Amakhosi career as he fractured a toe just a few games after making his debut for the club, and while it was originally thought that he would be back in just a few weeks, it now appears that he won’t play again in the current campaign.
Chiefs’ physiotherapist, Dave Milner, told the club’s official website, “Happy’s toe fracture is taking longer than expected to heal… The youngster requires a few more weeks to fully recover.”
Meanwhile, the club went on to add, “With just over one month to go, this could mean that Happy Mashiane’s 2018/2019 season is over. The left-back joins Itumeleng Khune and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, who are also ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury.”
The news of Mashiane’s injury comes at a bad time for the youngster, who was enjoying his breakout campaign at Naturena after being promoted into the first team by Middendorp earlier in the year.
