Tebogo Lerole and Khanyi Mbau have kept many fans guessing when it comes to their relationship status, but it looks like Tebogo cannot stop himself from making his admiration for Khanyi public, especially after sharing a spree of the actresses throwback snaps on his Instagram.
Earlier this year Khanyi left many fans shocked after she took to her social media to announce that she had decided to split up from her longtime boyfriend and flautist Tebogo, however, over the past few months the couple has remained quite close which has raised speculations of whether or not they had perhaps ‘kissed and made up’.
In January, Khanyi Mbau announced her entrance to celebrity singles club comprising of high-profile stars such as Bonang Matheba, Thembi Seete and Unathi Msengana.
This was after 2018 had claimed its first celebrity breakup in January, and it’s one that nobody saw coming. Khanyi Mbau and Tebogo Lerole, who had been dating for over eight years were reported to have gone their separate ways.
The two lovers looked to be going strong towards the end of 2017. However, it seems as if there were problems behind the scenes because just 10 days into the new year, Khanyi took to Instagram to confirm that they had split.
Part of her emotional statement read:
“Today.. I made peace with a battle that I have lost, i have accepted defeat. My greatest fear and my greatest loss.. letting go of the man I gave my heart too @edwardbillion it has taken so much from me in convincing my self that I am OKAY (sic)”.
This was not the first time that Khanyi Mbau had dumped her beau, Tebogo. In 2015, news headlines were awash with reports that Khanyi had dumped her 'lazy and dead broke' boyfriend.
According to Move! magazine, sources close to the Katch It With Khanyi talk show host say that she couldn’t any longer take the fact that all he did every day was laze around while she brought home all the money.
Speaking to the publication, one insider said: “Khanyi got tired of funding Tebogo’s lifestyle and decided to call it quits. Tebogo did not want to work. Khanyi always complained to us that when she woke up to go to work, Tebogo would remain on the couch the whole day, watching TV.
“That got to her, because she was not used to providing for a man, but rather the other way around. She told me she was fed up of supporting her daugher Khanukani, who lives with the couple, and having to support him too.”
Tebogo Lerole is a member of the penny-whistling trio Kwela Tebza, alongside his brothers Mpho and Tshepo.
They are the sons of Elias Lerole, who, together with his brother Jack, achieved great success in the ’50s with their Kwela penny-whistling band, Elias and His Zig Zag Jive Flutes.
Meanwhile, Tebogo has just shared a series of snaps of a younger version of the actress on his Instagram page and captioned them: ‘WCW’. Now CelebGossip.co.zw is busy sniffing around to figure out whether the celebrity couple has reunited or Tebogo is simply trying his luck once more, as usual.
