US President Donald Trump Threatens to Sue Trevor Noah Over Epstein Island Joke at Grammys

US President Donald Trump is threatening to sue Trevor Noah over a joke the comedian made while hosting the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The controversy stems from a quip Noah made after Billie Eilish won the Grammy for Song of the Year. Noah joked that the award was highly coveted, "almost as much as Trump wants Greenland." He then added, "Which makes sense… because, since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton.” The joke referenced Trump's past interest in acquiring Greenland and alluded to the controversy surrounding Jeffrey Epstein's island, where both Trump and Clinton have been mentioned in released files, though both deny any wrongdoing.

Trump responded on his Truth Social platform, calling the Grammys "the WORST and virtually unwatchable." He denied ever visiting Epstein's island and accused Noah of making a "false and defamatory statement."

Trump then launched a personal attack on Noah, calling him a "poor, pathetic, talentless dope of an MC" and threatening legal action. "I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an MC," Trump wrote. "Get ready, Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!"

Noah, who hosted the Grammys for the final time this year, has generally avoided heavy political commentary during the awards show, making this particular joke all the more surprising and sparking a significant reaction online.
