Sbahle Mpisane Released on Bail After Arrest for Reckless and Negligent Driving
Sbahle Mpisane, has been granted bail after being arrested and charged with reckless and negligent driving, according to Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Lt-Col Mavela Masondo. The 30-year-old Mpisane appeared in the Midrand magistrate's court on December 29.
The arrest has sparked discussions as it brings back memories of Mpisane's car crash incident in 2018, which left her hospitalized with severe injuries for several months. Shedding light on the events leading up to the crash, Mpisane recently opened up about the incident in an interview with YouTuber Owamie Hlongwane.
Mpisane explained that she lost control of her vehicle on Margaret Mncadi Avenue in Durban during the early hours, resulting in the car bursting into flames. When asked about the involvement of alcohol, Mpisane clarified that the accident was not caused by drinking and driving. She revealed that there was a situation at the time, and although there were no working cameras to capture the incident, she confronted the person involved, who happened to be a friend.
“The car accident wasn't because Sbahle was drinking and driving, No. There happened to be a situation. The cameras were not working and either way it was something which was seen and I have approached the situation face to face and something happened,” she said.
“Someone was the cause of my car accident, but there were no cameras and I am alive. I happened to know the person. The person was my friend, but it's nothing to talk about because I don't want to mention their name and I am alive.”
