Actress Sonia Mbele, who also serves as the executive producer of the reality TV series "The Real Housewives of Johannesburg," was allegedly attacked over the weekend at a restaurant and club in Sandton. The incident unfolded in front of other patrons and left Mbele traumatized. The attacker, a woman who had reportedly auditioned for the show but was not selected, is said to have held a grudge against Mbele since then. The woman's boyfriend joined in the attack, pulling off Mbele's wig in a fit of rage. It is believed that the altercation stemmed from the woman's rejection during the audition process due to being under the required age.

According to a source familiar with the couple, the attack was premeditated and planned before Mbele arrived at the venue. The source, who witnessed the incident, revealed that some of the people who invited Mbele to the location were colluding with the couple who attacked her. The altercation began when Mbele ordered drinks, and the woman instructed her partner not to pay for them, which caught Mbele and her friend off guard. They quickly changed tables, but the boyfriend proceeded to snatch Mbele's wig and strike her with it. Mbele sustained minor injuries and had to leave due to the trauma inflicted upon her.

Mbele has since announced that she will be taking legal action against the woman. Through her PR manager, Thato Malindi, Mbele expressed her intent to pursue legal recourse, citing the abuse and bullying she has endured in the industry. Mbele has consulted with her lawyer, who advised her to file a case and initiate legal proceedings promptly.

While Malindi confirmed that legal action is in progress, further details were not disclosed. Mbele's spokesperson emphasized that the attack constituted abuse and stated that regardless of personal feelings, no one has the right to physically assault another person.

It has come to light that the couple has been banned from the restaurant after the incident. When called for comment, the club's manager Chris Nkosi said they were not at liberty to comment on the matter.
