Itumeleng Khune’s girlfriend Sbahle Mpisane has reportedly opened a case of extortion and intimidation at Durban’s Umbilo Police Station after receiving death threats from an unknown man.
According the Sunday Sun, the man has been demanding that Sbahle pay him R80 000.
“The person demands large sums of money and threatens to kill her if she doesn’t pay up. She even showed us a bank account the alleged perpetrator had demanded a huge amount of money be deposited into,” a police source told the publication.
The man has allegedly been sending Sbhale threatening messages for the past three months.
Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala confirmed that officers were investigating a case of extortion.
No arrests have been made.
Gwala did not divulge any further details about the case, telling the paper it would jeopardise investigations.
Sbhale did not seem too keen to talk about her ordeal when when the Sunday Sun contacted her for information.
“Where do you journalists get all your information from, is that what they teach you in varsity? …it’s too early in the morning, so allow me to eat this ice cream in peace.”
