Mshoza’s husband, Thuthukani Mvula was arrested after turning himself into the police this week. The businessman has since been released on bail.
Mshoza and Thuthukani’s marriage has been in troubled waters for the last 10 days, following a string of cheating allegations that both partners levelled at each other. This has led to one of the most explosive celebrity fallings-out we’ve ever seen and things took a violent turn after Mshoza accused her now estranged husband of wanting to kill her.
Thuthukani even went so far as to boast about burning her clothes on social media after accusing her of cheating on him, although, along with the threats he sent her way, was taking it one step too far. Mshoza retaliated by pressing charges against the man she’s been married to for six months.
According to TshisaLive, Thuthukani Mvula handed himself in to the police on Monday morning and was arrested on charges of assault and intimidation, for pointing a firearm at Mshoza.
Part of a statement released to TshisaLive by the police read: “He handed himself over at the Phuthaditjhaba police station on Monday. He appeared in court shortly after that. He was granted bail of R5 000 and was told to reappear on May 28. In the meantime, we are continuing with investigations.”
He may be out on bail, but he is not allowed to contact Mshoza. Police spokesperson, Seargeant Mmako Mophiring added: “He cannot communicate with her or arrange meetings with her. He understands that.”
Meanwhile, Mshoza is said to be in hiding after fleeing the KZN home she shared with Mvula. Her manager spoke to Tshisa Live and confirmed her safety, saying:
“Mshoza has been going through a lot in the last few days and is still very scared. She fears for her life and has been trying to make sense of everything. I think it is all hitting her now, the impact of what happened, and so the best place for her right now is under 24-hour protection.”
