Former Bafana Bafana striker Tokelo Rantie ALWAYS beats up side chick Sibongile in front of his friends

FORMER Bafana Bafana striker Tokelo Rantie’s off-the-field behaviour has allegedly landed him in hot water.

Rantie allegedly assaulted his side chick Sibongile Khote. The star, who was released by Cape Town City last month, is accused of beating up Sibongile.

Sibongile was a close friend to Rantie's ex wife, Gigi Pule, and she allegedly snatched Gigi's husband. This is how the two then fell in love.

The alleged assault happened at his place in Parys, Free State. According to sources, Rantie had been abusing her for a long time. Sibongile said she wasn’t aware of Rantie’s alleged abusive behaviour, until their relationship got serious in January 2018. She said she moved in with him in September last year, when he returned to Mzansi from Turkey.

“When he was drunk, he would beat me up in front of friends. Most of the time, I was saved by the complex’s security guards,” she said.

She said he assaulted her with fists on 23 December.

“When I fell on the floor, he hit and hurt me with an object I didn’t see,” she said.

Sibongile said she fainted as a result of the beating. “I woke up the next day and went to open a case at Parys Police Station. Cops took me to the doctor for further check-ups.”

Sibongile said even after she opened the case, Rantie didn’t stop harassing her. “Last week, I went to get a protection order against him.”

Sibongile’s cousin Martin Mofokeng backed up her story, saying Rantie has been abusing Sibongile.

“He’s very abusive this guy. He’s been abusing our cousin. This has to stop,” he said.

He said the family was in shock and feared for Sibongile’s life and safety.

Said Sibongile: “I think he needs professional help. I pray he finds help with whatever he’s going through because this is not good for him.”

Rantie refused to comment and hung up.

Free State police spokesperson Thandi Mbambo said a case was opened, but Sibongile later withdrew the charges.

“No one has been arrested at this stage,” she said.

But Sibongile has since reopened the assault case this week.
