Another Kaizer Chiefs player was involved in a car accident on Saturday afternoon.
Kaizer Chiefs confirmed that young midfielder Wiseman Meyiwa has survived a serious accident in Johannesburg on Saturday and is stable in hospital. The 18-year-old was involved in a crash on the N3 highway which appeared to completely wreck his vehicle. However, the young star managed to escape with his life and was rushed to hospital to treat any injuries.
Meyiwa is the second Chiefs player to be involved in a car accident in recent weeks, after Lebogang Manyma was injured in a collision last month.
A statement from the Chiefs website read," Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Wiseman Meyiwa was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday afternoon on the N3 highway, near Villiers in the Free State. He was on his way home to Pietermaritzburg.
The player was rushed to hospital and taken to intensive care unit for monitoring. He is stable, and doctors are still assessing the seriousness of his injuries. An update will be shared once more details are available.
We wish him a speedy recovery."
The incident is the second major road accident to be suffered by an Amakhosi star after forward Lebogang Manyama was also involved in a crash. Manyama fractured his elbow in the collision and is likely to remain out until at least after the next FIFA international break.
