Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to have set their sights on a player who could come in as a short-term replacement for Percy Tau should he leave the club.
As reported in the past weeks, Tau could soon be making the move away from the Chloorkop-based club, with the 24-year-old currently heavily linked with a move to Europe.
English side, Brighton and Hove are believed to be the club keen on luring the player abroad, however, indications are that Sundowns and Tau’s camp are not seeing eye to her with regards to the negotiations taking place.
There have been several comments in the media by both the club and Tau’s camp regarding the situation, which seems to be really sensitive at this point.
It has also been revealed that Tau was not in the Sundowns setup who travelled to Rustenburg for the pre-season camp and it is still uncertain whether the player plans to report for pre-season training at all.
However, in the meantime, just as the Brazilians bolstered their side quickly following Khama Billiat’s departure, indications are that Sundowns are looking at trying to bring Sinethemba Jantjie to the Tshwane side, after being linked with the Free State Stars winger for quite some time now.
The 29-year-old has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Sundowns, although it seems that the Brazilians could look to act on their interest in the player and possibly approach Ea Lla Koto for his services as they prepare for life without Tau.
