Protours, a luxury Coach Charter company, specializing in the luxury coach charter industry, has a vacancy at their head office in Centurion for a dynamic and strategic/goad driven individual to serve as General Manager.
This position calls for a matured leader with a strong financial/operational background on a senior management level a similar environment. A strategic thinker who has a proven track record of the successful implementation of strategies and the successful management thereof. A matured, reliable individual with a proven track record (on senior management level) to lead the company to be profitable and successful. (Previous similar senior management experience in the luxury transport industry will be an advantage).
The requirements for the position are as follows:
Proven previous experience and track record on senior level strategic management and successful implementation thereof;
The successful motivation and management of the human capital and all relevant aspects of a business;
Proven previous track record of strong strategic management /leadership and the implementation thereof to operate the business successful and in a profitable manner;
The successful candidate should have at least 10 years’ experience on management level where there was intensive involvement in the successful implementation of strategies and proven record of income targets met.
Experience / Knowledge:
Strategic positioning of the business and ability to negotiate/ finalise and retain consistent income streams;
Sufficient knowledge of tender processes to prepare and successfully submit transport related tenders;
The ability to identify and establish profitability of services to ensure profitability of all transport services rendered to clients;
Build new client relationships/ maintain current relationships and investigate new transport opportunities in the transport industry;
Proven track record of leadership and leading/motivating senior management to be successful with the implementation and successful completion of the company strategies;
Proven leadership ability on senior management level/track record thereof;
Proven financial management background to ensure profitability of the business;
Monthly management reports/meeting with Board of Directors;
Previous involvement in trade shows to investigate new opportunities and meet with current client base;
Excellent negotiation skills to ensure a profitable income stream on a daily basis;
Knowledge of Southern African countries as far as road conditions, technical support, cultures, business environment and transport law (including permits etc) are concerned (especially Namibia, Zambia and Malawi).

Key Challenges of the Position:
To establish strategies and explore/enter into all new transport opportunities to ensure that the set annual income budget is met or exceeded;
To ensure that annual income targets are met and best operational processes followed;
To ensure compliance to set standards and procedures;
Matured/innovative leadership to take the business forward;
Be accountable to the Board of Directors for operating results.
