A Secondary School pupil who assaulted a commercial sex worker over poor services has been arraigned before the courts on assault charges.
The 17-year-old pupil who cannot be named since he is a minor, pleaded guilty to the charges when he appeared before Mutare provincial magistrate Mrs Sekai Chiundura in Zimbabwe.
The magistrate warned and cautioned him before wholly suspending a three month jail term for five years on condition of good behaviour.
During mitigation, the Nyamauru secondary School pupil told the court that he acted out of anger when he assaulted the sex worker.
He said he sweated to get the $2 he gave his brother to pay the thigh vndor, who in turn, offered poor services.
“Your Worship, I gave my older brother the money to pay the sex worker and I was so angered when he told me that the services she had given him were very poor,” he said.
He was charged with assault as defined in Section 89 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.
The court heard that on November 20 and at 8pm, Joyce Chikazaza, a 27-year-old prostitute was with the teenager’s brother who paid her $2 after they slept together.
The teenager came demanding his money back saying his brother had told him that the services she rendered him were not worth $2.
The complainant refused to give the teenager the money and this did not go down well him.
He then punched the sex worker and twisted her left hand. Miss Perseverance Musukuto prosecuted.
