Baby factory where men are paid to impregnate women: 6 ladies are already pregnant, 24 babies born

Six pregnant ladies have been rescued from a baby factory where men are paid handisomely to impregnate women, the Ogun state police command has said.

The baby-making home is located at Imedu Olori area of Mowe, Obafemi Owode Local Government area of Ogun State in Nigeria.

Last Wednesday, Nigerian police command said they rescued 24 babies and four pregnant girls from a ”baby factory” in the state.

In a statement on Thursday, Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson of the Ogun police command, said the “factory” was uncovered on February 28 at Imedu-Olori area of Mowe town in Obafemi-Owode local government area.

Oyeyemi said one of the inmates who escaped from the facility reported the illegal activity at Mowe police station. He said the victim narrated how she was lured into the facility and held captive for a long time.

He said three persons, including one Florence Ogbonna who allegedly operates the facility, have been arrested in connection with the act.

According to the spokesperson, the victim said Ogbonna would bring men to the facility to impregnate the ladies and take their babies away when they give birth.

“Upon her report, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Mowe Division, SP Marvis Jayeola, mobilized detectives to the scene where 12 ladies between the ages of 20 and 25 years were rescued, with six of them heavily pregnant,” Oyeyemi said.

“Three suspects – Florence Ogbonna Chibuke Akabueze and Chibuzor Okafor – were also arrested in connection with the case.

“The Commissioner of Police in the state, Kenneth Ebrimson, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to Anti Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for investigation.”
