IT’S unusual to see sangomas attending a church service. But after their powers started failing, this group of healers decided they needed God’s help.
However, yesterday, amakhosi and sangomas from different Ekurhuleni kasis visited prophet Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng’s Incredible Happenings Ministries Church in Katlehong for prayers.
Church members were surprised when they saw sangomas and chiefs enter the marquee wearing traditional outfits. Prayers were mixed with traditional drumbeats during the unusual service.
At the podium, Mboro said he didn’t choose who he prayed for as he did it for all people.
“I don’t criticise individuals because of their spiritual gifts. I serve a living God, who is a God for all people,” he said.
Sangoma Nosamkelo Buyambo said over the years, they had supported Mboro in his battles with the Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Religious Communities.
“We are harassed as sangomas. We are being chased. We are targeted for killings because of our gifts. We are here today to ask for assistance from Mboro to help solve our issues,” she said.
Nosamkelo said fake inyangas were also making their lives difficult.
“This is a serious problem and this is why we’re asking for the help of a man of God,” she said.
Speaking to the SunTeam, Mboro said he helped everyone who asked.
“These are troubled souls because they are in a spiritual war. When they work for the people, they are attacked by rivals and end up becoming sick,” he said.
“Others go to thwasa and get shut down and stop having visions. I believe in Jesus and I pray to God. AWhen God makes the rain fall, he makes it for everyone. I don’t discriminate and I showed these troubled sangomas and chiefs love.”
