Kelly Khumalo and Senzo Meyiwa's former side chick sends message to HHP's wife Lerato Sengadi

Several local stars including Kelly Khumalo have offered Lerato Sengadi some warm words following the death of Jabulani ‘HHP’ Tsambo.

The singer took to Instagram on Lerato’s 36th birthday this week to send her a special message.

“I know your heart And I also know your Strength. Rise Mbokode Rise,(sic)” she wrote.

Nobody understands what Lerato is going through more than Kelly, who four years ago mourned the death of her partner Senzo Meyiwa.

Senzo was shot dead in a robbery at Kelly’s mother’s house in 2014. Like Lerato, Kelly was also shunned by her lover’s family.

On Tuesday, HHP’s family denied that Lerato was married to the rapper and appeared upset that she was being referred to as his wife.

“I would like to put this matter to rest and categorically state on record that Ms Sengadi is not, and was never married to Jabulani.

“She is not his wife! Ms Sengadi is Jabu’s ex-fiancée and moved out of his home and his life on her own accord last year. She and her mother were requested to desist from spreading this falsehood,” family spokesperson Nkululeko Ncana said in a statement.

Nkululeko further claimed that Lerato and her mother went to the Kwaito star’s home on the day he died and requested his policy documents, bank cards, wallet, cell phone and other things.

Lerato took to Instagram this week to seemingly respond to the family’s claims.

“I’ve lost a husband, my best friend, my road dog, my comedian, my selekor, my favourite artist, my scrabble mate, the love of my life… I love you when you didn’t love yourself… There will still be so much said, but I will take those lashings with the integrity and grace of the warrior Queen you chose to share your throne,” she wrote.

Some of SA biggest stars left messages of support in the comments section.

“Lerato, sis, you are such a warrior. God will carry you. Praying for strength, comfort and peach through it all,” LeAnne Dlamini wrote on Instagram.

Nomzamo Mbatha wrote: “Your army stands strong and stands still. Godspeed. Love you, big sis.”

Kelly said: “You are not alone.”

Lerato also shared a video of herself on HHP exactly one year ago, taken on her birthday.
