He used the dogs for hunting, but instead of hunting prey he hunted his wife!
She had escaped to a friend’s house after they allegedly had a fight on Friday night. But her freedom was shortlived after the dogs sniffed her out.
The 28-year-old woman from Motlhabaneng section in Makapanstad, North West, was stoned to death by her husband in the early hours of Saturday morning. According to a neighbour, the couple started fighting on Friday night. She said the woman ran away in the early hours of Saturday morning.
“She went to a friend’s house, not far from hers. When her husband realised she was gone, he went hunting for her. He took his sniffer dogs, which he uses for hunting, and they led him to the friend’s house. He allegedly threatened the friend to release his wife,” she said.
The man allegedly took his wife to an open place, where he stoned her to death! When Daily Sun arrived at the scene, the family said they couldn’t comment.
“We’re still trying to understand what happened. We can’t talk about anything right now,” they said.
The community was also devastated. According to police, the man disappeared into the fields. They cracked the case on Monday morning when they found his body in the fields. He had hanged himself.
North West police spokesman Captain Aafje Botman said: “The woman was found with wounds to her head and stones surrounding her. She was certified dead on the scene.”
She said the search for the suspect ended on Monday when his body was found.
“The man was found hanging by the neck in a forest. It’s believed he hanged himself on Monday morning. Cases of murder and an inquest were opened,” she said.
