Former SA president, Jacob Zuma, is currently caught up in the midst of a corruption trial and is attempting to garner a permanent stay of prosecution
Zuma has recently come forward to say that he could dish dirt on those who are calling for his arrest, and expose them – The ex-SA president also recently claimed that he was unable to continue paying for his legal fees
Former South African president, Jacob Zuma, has recently spoken up against those prosecuting him, making threats that he could reveal damning evidence about these parties to the public. According to eNCA, the ex-president claims he could ‘expose’ those calling him to court for corruption. Zuma spoke to a group of supporters who had gathered outside of KwaZulu Natal High Court, telling them that those calling for his arrest would regret it.
This threat echoes the ones made by Zuma in light of the creation of the State Capture Commission of inquiry.
Advocate Muzi Sikhakhane, who is representing Zuma in his attempt to garner a permanent stay of prosecution, says the ex-president doesn't have the funds to continue defending himself. “Mr Zuma remains here, squeezed out of everything he could do. He has no finances, the State has squeezed that. The State is squeezing him out not to be able to afford lawyers,” Sikhakhane explained.
