Mzansi Magic has admitted that their drama series, Isithembiso is indeed dead and buried, as
they will not be renewing it for a 4th season.
According to Move magazine, the channel could not furnish the publication with reasons as to
why the show has been axed, however, viewers will enjoy it until early next year.
Head of publicity and local entertainment channels at Mzansi Magic, Philly Kubheka confirmed
the move; “The show will not be renewed for season 4 and it will end early next year.”
Isithembiso storyline, looks into the lives of two young people who come to the City of Gold in
search of not only their fortune, but also to revisit their history so as to try and establish the
relationship between them, opportunities, and education.
The series starred veteran actors such as Hamilton Dlamini, Mavuso Magabane and Lillian Dube
and some newcomers, Nandi Mbatha and Zamani Mbatha.
Be that as it may, reports are that the drama series is being striked off because it lacked enough viewership to sustain it on air.
Rubbishing the reports, Philly said, “Isithembiso has been one of our stellar and successful
telenovelas and this is attributed to the production, cast members and everyone that has been
part of the show.”
The channel could not disclose why they are discontinuing the show at this time, more so if it is
indeed doing well. “At this point we cannot confirm Isithembsio’s replacement,” that is only
what Philly could say.
