Award-winning Nigerian artist, Tiwa Savage will no longer perform at this year's DSTV delicious festival.
The star said her decision came as a result of the "barbaric butchering of my people in SA" that is no longer interested to watch.
She was referring to the violence that continues to grip the Johannesburg CBD, which has resulted in the death of at least five people.
The singer is standing in solidarity with her citizens, who have been victims of the violence that has left the CBD in tatters.
Taking to her Twitter account, she announced that she will not longer perform at the festival.
"I refuse to watch the barbaric butchering of my people in SA. This is SICK. For this reason I will NOT be performing at the upcoming DSTV delicious Festival in Johannesburg on the 21st of September. My prayers are with all the victims and families affected by this," she wrote.
The star said the issue of violence needs to be dealt with, because no one wins when blood is shed.
She further wrote:"But yet I was booked to perform at the festival. This is a serious issue were NO ONE wins when blood is shed whether old videos or not. Issue needs to be resolved. We Africans (including South Africans) need each other"
