Afro-soul singer Lira made some time in her busy schedule to take her mom on an exciting getaway in Namibia.
While there, the duo helped us conquer our fear of heights with an exhilarating skydiving adventure.
If you’ve been following Lira on social media you will know that she has pulled out all the stops to spoil her mom who turns 63 this week. Lira was also celebrating her birthday – she turned 40 a week before her mother’s birthday – and they decided to embrace their new ages by skydiving from 15 000 feet (over 4 500 metres)!
Lira captioned a few of her videos on social media: “A tribute to a mom and her daughters diving into more LIFE, LOVE and FREEDOM!”
“My mom skydiving from 15000 ft in celebration of her 63rd birthday!”
Lira also marked her 40th birthday with an exclusive live show in Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, where she channeled her inner Nina Simone during the intimate set:
This proved to be an exciting start to Lira’s new year and things are only going to get better!
The singer, who is currently one of four coaches on M-Net’s The Voice SA, is also billed to share the stage with American RnB crooner, Eric Benet in April.
The singers will be entertaining crowds at the Sun Square Arena in Pretoria on 6 April 2019:
