Who really is Florence Masebe?
Florence's early years and birthday
Born in November 1972 in Limpopo, the actress has been on television screens since she was in her twenties. Masebe attended the UCT Drama School and began acting professionally in 1993.

Florence Masebe is a well known South African actress who has been in the arts industry for 26-years.
She has bagged roles in popular soapies like Generations,7 De Laan , Rythm City and Etv's Scandal amongst many other shows.
But many remember her role as Humbulani on Muvhango.
Florence Masebe started her first television show called Electric Workshop under Urban Brew productions. The television programme became her big breakthrough to other projects in the industry.
She then joined Generations and after her role on the popular soapie she managed to bag several roles in different productions which include Fokus, a show she co-hosted with Freek Robinson and Etv Scandal where she played the role of Precious Thito.
Florence Masebe's Accolades
The former Muvhango actress has also won several awards for Best Actress at the Africa Movie Academy Awards for her role in Elelwani.
Masebe has got a soft spot for young people, in a past interview she opened about how much she enjoyed acting alongside young and fresh talent on Elelwani, so much so that the youngsters began calling her aunt Flo.
“I got to watch these three young people from totally different backgrounds unfold during the whole process by the last few days I was Aunt Flo. It was real all the way, there was no script and I really enjoyed that,” she said.
The loss of her son
In 2015 tragedy struck when the actress sadly loss her 18-month-old son – Masakona who accidentally drowned in a swimming pool.

Last year Florence Masebe criticised national broadcasters for exploiting actors and actresses in the industry. She is one of the many performers who takes the rights of actors very seriously.
