Move Magazine apologises to Kelly Khumalo over her new boyfriend Chad Da Don

Move! magazine has issued a public apology to Kelly Khumalo after she slammed a “racist” cover line about her romance with Chad Da Don.

The songstress held nothing back when she took the magazine to task and even threatened to take action over it.

A part of the coverline read: “Kelly Khumalo madly in love with umlungu (white person)”.

The editor of Move! magazine issued a statement on social media on Friday afternoon, admitting that the umlungu reference had no relevance to the story.

“The reference to umlungu was light-hearted and I agree with many readers that it has no relevance to the story. I apologise to Kelly Khumalo and readers who may be offended by the headline,” read part of the statement.

Kelly blasted the publication which which she seemingly has a history.

“I can’t help but feel this headline is very racist, who still sees colour in this day and age. It could have ended with Kelly finds love but no you dirty mother f***kers had to take it that far!

“I warned but you didn’t listen, I’m so coming for you even for the old sh*t you’ve written,” she said on Instagram.

The likes of Somizi Mhlongo, Rami Chuene and Ayanda Thabethe joined hundreds of fans who echoed Kelly sentiments.

“Hundred percent agree with you. If a white publication wrote Chad in with a blackie. We would be all over the show boycotting. Msunu we Move mag. It belongs in the toilets to wipe bums,” said Somizi in the comments section of the scathing post.

Over the years Kelly has hogged headlines for her turbulent love life, which has resulted in her being targeted by cyber bullies.

This reared its ugly head yet again when it emerged that Kelly and Chad are completely besotted with each other.
