Thugs break into late maskandi singer Mtshengiseni 'Indidane' Gcwensa's house, steal his 8 awards

INDIDANE died and left his awards to his family to inspire them. But thugs broke into his house in Msinga, KZN, on Wednesday night and stole the precious legacy the maskandi star left his children.

Mtshengiseni Gcwensa, known as Indidane, died in 2015. According to his wife Zothini (36), the thugs took nine of his 20 awards. She was inside another house in the yard when she heard people talking. She then sent her son to go and check what was happening as she was in the bath. But he saw nothing.

“Later, I went to my husband’s house and saw the door was open. The bed had been moved and things were taken from the wardrobe. The awards were also missing,” she said.

Zothini said Indidane, while still alive, had told his kids the awards should remind them that he worked hard for his family.

“He told them to work hard to achieve their goals,” she said.

KZN police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane said the matter was reported to the police.
