Celebrities speak out as Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba's sex tap leaks, video breaks the internet

The internet was sent into a complete meltdown over the weekend after a sex tape involving Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba went viral.

Malusi admitted in a string of tweets that there was a video “containing material of a sexual nature” of him doing the rounds. The minister claimed that the video was intended for him and his wife, Norma’s eyes only but was stolen when his phone was hacked in 2016 or 2017.

Malusi further alleged that the video was being used to blackmail him and he apologised to his children, in-laws and the public for the “pain and embarrassment”.

The minister’s spokesperson Vuyo Mkhize told EWN that Norma did not feature on the video and it was just Malusi.

“His wife does not feature in the video. His wife was the intended recipient for the video. The information that he received is that the video is currently circulating in political circles, but he’s not in a position to say that they’re responsible for it.”

This is not the first time that Malusi has made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Malusi was at the centre of a cheating scandal involving socialite Buhle Mkhize, which made headlines for about two years since 2015.

Norma Gigaba and Buhle aired their dirty laundry during several social media spats over the two-year period.

In one social media rant Buhle warned Norma to leave her alone and threatened to reveal incriminating “evidence” she had of the minister.

During an interview with eNCA last year Norma admitted that Malusi had cheated on her with Buhle.

“I was feeling so bad for my mother and his mother. When they were going to church, people were reading Drum magazine, they were reading papers, and now we have to explain,” Norma said at the time.
