There appears to be some confusion regarding the departure of actor Zolisa Xaluva from the show "Smoke & Mirrors." While Zolisa believes that negotiations are still ongoing for the show's second season, the producers have confirmed that he will not be returning.

According to a statement from Thapelo Ramatsui, a marketing and communications specialist at e.tv, the production company Final Chapter Productions and Zolisa Xaluva have amicably parted ways. They acknowledge Zolisa's contribution to the show in his role as Caesar Ngonyama and wish him the best in his future endeavors.

However, Zolisa, in an interview with SowetanLIVE, stated that negotiations for the second season are still ongoing between the parties involved. He mentioned that his contract for the first season has ended, so the term "fired" is incorrect. He also expressed unawareness of the news that his character would be recast, stating that in show business, one must have a thick skin and handle matters calmly as they arise.

Zolisa shared, “Negotiations are still ongoing for season two between the parties involved. The contract for season one has ended, so the word fired is incorrect.”

He added that he was unaware of the news that his character on the show would be recast. “This is show business; one has to have a thick skin and deal calmly with matters as they arise.”

When SowetanLIVE informed e.tv about Zolisa's lack of knowledge regarding his departure, Thapelo reaffirmed that Zolisa's departure was amicable and that the character of Caesar would be recast for the show's second season. They stated that no further negotiations are planned, and the other actors remain integral to the show.

Thapelo reaffirmed, “We stand with the reason for Zolisa’s departure to be on an amicable basis between the actor and production. The character of Caesar will be recast going into the second season of the show. Our other actors remain integral parts of the show. No further negotiations are planned.”
