Award-winning television and radio presenter Lerato Kganyago has made a name for herself through a line up of countless shows – Project Runway SA being her latest one. We first got a taste of her hosting skills when she presented on Soweto TV then went on to present SABC lifestyle show – The Link plus co-hosts the bridge with Dineo Ranaka on Metro FM.
It was shows like these that promoted Lerato into a household name across South Africa and she has done well by ensuring she maintains the hype.
Born and raised by her grandmother in Soweto, Lerato also boasts having scooped the Miss Soweto title in 2003 with a history of first becoming a flight attendant before embarking on a career in TV and radio.
However, success is never enough for the ambitious and having been in the industry for the past couple of years, Lerato aims to bag more accomplishments in hosting her own talk show as well as heading a top organisation in the entertainment industry.
Although people tried to pull her down with effortless comparisons to Queen B and calling her a Bonang wannabe, Lerato rose above the waters and proved to be different in her own way.
She was once quoted saying she hates the comparisons that she was always associated with but chose to ignore and focus more on giving South Africa a true image of her personality and it worked in her favour as millions adore her style.
Talking about celebrity friendships that are usually serving us good vibes, Lerato has been hanging out more often with ‘besties’ DJ Zinhle and Pearl Thusi of late and who wouldn’t love a friendship that comprises of these three ladies?
However, some may want to call her the queen of clap backs on social media but we can’t blame her as many cyber-bullies hide behind social media and she wouldn’t be so wrong to fight back whenever someone’s post about her doesn’t go down well with what she believes and stands for.
We love keeping up with Lerato Kganyago and can't wait to see what she'll have in store for us in 2019.
