KAIZER CHIEFS general manager Bobby Motaung’s bad year continues to haunt him.
Bobsteak, as he’s famously known, has been absent from the public space for about two weeks. An informant said he had been in hospital fighting for his life.
The football manager was rushed to hospital following a serious health scare. Bobsteak was discharged last week. An insider said Bobby was admitted at the Rosebank Netcare Clinic after complaining of dizzy spells and stomach problems.
Said the mole: “Doctors suspected food poisoning and admitted him. Bobby’s situation was bad and the doctors wanted to ensure they dealt with it at a hospital.”
Another source said when he was asked if he had eaten something he was allergic to, Bobsteak told them he didn’t remember.
Insisted the source: “The doctors weren’t sure if his illness was related to outside forces or if he ate poisonous food.”
The mole said Bobby was discharged on Sunday.
“We weren’t sure what was bothering him, but doctors picked up something in his system that caused all his troubles,” the mole said.
The third source claimed that his health scare was kept a secret.
Claimed the source: “They didn’t want it to be known. Even where he was kept was a private ward with few visitors allowed in.”
This week, Bobby confirmed he was hospitalised. He said: “I’m home recovering. I was discharged this week. Doctors told me it was food poisoning. I don’t know where I got it from.”
Six weeks ago, Bobby ‘Bobsteak’ Motaung was spending time with family and friends after a soccer match when bullets started flying! he narrowly survived a gunshot attack in Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria.
Said Bobsteak: “I went to unwind with my cousin on Sunday after the match, together with my friends. Everything was well until it was time for me and my driver to leave. When we were outside, four men approached us with guns and started shooting. I was lucky to escape, but they robbed my driver of a watch, bag and also took his firearm.”
